Weed to Klamath Falls (continued)

The afternoon was spent exploring Klamath Falls.  There are no falls in Klamath Falls.  There is the Klamath River but it was raining too hard to get a good picture.  Did some shopping and looked around Old Town Klamath Falls.  Lots of stores were closed due to the recession we were told.  Some nice houses up on the hill above the old section of downtown.  On the north side of town is the huge Upper Klamath Lake.  Looks like the lake has enough water for all of California but I guess that is overly optimistic.  We heard there is great fishing in the Upper Klamath Lake.

If we had not already spent time at Crater Lake National Park, we would have gone there next as it is only about 60 miles from Klamath Falls.  After Klamath Falls we started traveling toward Bend, Or. and saw some residual snow on the side of the road.  It is still raining.  Looked for a National Forest Campground along the way but didn’t see any so just pulled off route 97 and stopped for the night.  Tired of driving today.
