Dawson Creek to Fort Nelson, BC, Canada
Today was spent driving the Alcan Hwy., looking for wild life and stopping along the way to look at some the small towns and the views of the mountains. The Fort Nelson visitor center was closed as was the museum so we will move on in the morning. We were told they don’t open until the weekend of May 19th. We were lucky enough to see two caribou grazing at the side of the road but there was no safe place to pull over and get their picture. One of the grades on the Alcan Hwy., soon after leaving Dawson Creek, became a 10% grade. We went down it slow as we usually do but coming back this way and going up it will be slower.

It is warm now in Fort Nelson, about 75 degrees F. today, that is the good news.  The bad news is the mosquitoes are out already.
Could find no wi-fi in Fort Nelson but when the visitor center opens it will be available. The Ramada Limited Inn kindly allowed us to use their wi-fi at no charge so we could send out this blog and so Jerry could check on his stocks.  Very nice, the Canadian “nice” trait again.  Thank you!
